Message: I began this message and think I accidentally sent it off without completing it so I will begin again. My name is Joanne Abrahams. I don't know if you remember me but I was Meredith's kindergarten teacher. I can see Meredith before me. A little girl, wearing a dress, long skinny little legs and a sweet, sweet face. I remember big sister Jennifer looking out for Meredith. I remember how bright and kind a little girl she was.I have been a teacher since 1976, on and off, but have not taught kindergarten since leaving Ouebec for Halifax where I raised 3 children, two of whom have graduated from McGill. But this year I chose to teach kindergarten, having been a Reading Recovery teacher for many years. I knew about Meredith's passing at the time it happened from media reports, but never knew how to get in touch with you. Then I came across this sight . You see I thought of Meredith as I planned all summer long for my return to kindergarten, which we call Primary, in Nova Scotia. I am loving teaching primary much as I loved my 2 years at Mountainview. I want to dedicate this year of my teaching and the few years that I will continue to teach to the memory of Meredith with your permission. I will see her spirit in the faces of my new charges each and every day. Meredith and I have a few other connections. I don't know if you remember but I am Jewish and my anniversary is August 11. I just wanted you to know that Meredith's memory lives on in my heart and always will. Fondly, Joanne Abrahams Halifax Nova Scotia
