From: Ann M Barry Date: 09/11/2005 Message: Although I have never met Lt. Kevin Dowdell, he became a very special part of my life after a ceremony held on 9/11/2002. I was given a flag with his name on it and have never stopped praying for his family and "Thanking" him for his ultimate sacrifice. I was very fortunate to meet his sister in CO at the Northglenn Healing Fields, she gave me two pictures which have never left my nighstand. Some may consider me a stranger to him, I proudly call myself a friend. |

From: Rob Madden Date: 08/10/2006 Message: I met Kevin's son James out one night in Huntington, NY. Classy guy, whose dad would be proud, as he followed in his dad's footsteps with the NYFD. Just as unbelievable was James' brother, a recent West Point graduate, who chose to defend his country at a time so necessary, also putting his life on the line like his father and brother. I didn't know Lt. Kevin Dowdell, but I am pretty sure there aren't many prouder fathers. RSM - USNA Class of '97 |

I've only got the chance to meet Kevin through stories that were told to me, all of which showed how great of a guy he was. I know James' father is very proud of him as am I. |
