23 Years Later...We Shall Never Forget

From: Jim & Kris Payant
Date: 05/10/2006
Message: Heather Smith was 30 years old, embarking on a new chapter in her life & career. On her first business trip for a new employer. Getting married in the Fall of 2002. Terrorists murdered her on September 11, 2001 on Flight 11. Heather's parents are our dearest and most treasured friends. They are pure of heart & soul and their daughter was a perfect reflection of both of them. She had a wonderful nature and truly giving spirit - the world is a much darker place without her. Her loss has touched us in ways we never imagined. We had known her for nearly 10 years, through her parents. We had just started to get to know her for herself in the months before her death. She was an extraordinary individual - focused on her career, looking forward to getting married and starting a family, thinking about going back to school for her Master's Degree and always, always focused on her family. She was the light of her parents' lives and their grief for her will never end. Neither shall ours. To all who lost a loved one on September 11th - may the powers in this universe grant you some peace as the years go by. May our country stand strong for us, support us and never forget what we all went through - together. Heather took a piece of our hearts with her when she died - we will never seek to replace it, as a reminder for the person we knew.
