From: Seth Belson Date: 04/06/2005 Message: I saw the tribute page while researching my family tree. My great grandfather, Lewis Belson, emigrated to the USA via Ellis Island in 1904, having first come to the UK from Russia, presumably to escape the anti-Jewish pogroms. I don't know what happened to him, or why he left his family in the UK, but I thought it just possible that I might be related to Stephen, and I hope someone in the family will feel able to contact me. Whether we are related or not, I am proud to share the family name of an all-American hero. Jewish scripture says: "He who saves the life of single soul, it is as if he has saved the entire world". |
