23 Years Later...We Shall Never Forget

From: Mike Bestul
Date: 04/06/2006
Message: I knew Chris well when he worked for me as a consultant from PriceWaterhouseCoopers on a project for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board in Madison, WI. Chris was bright, energetic, and a joy to be around. I often think of him, and his tragic end on 911. In fact, it is hard for me to even believe that it could be true, since he was so alive and vibrant when I knew him. He could also play a mean game of pool, and we used to frequently do that after hours at the little brew pub next door to the offices we worked at in downtown Madison. He is missed by many, and I know that all my colleagues from Madison, WI that knew Chris share in my sense of grief at his untimely and unjust death at the hands of monstrous terrorists out to destroy our way of life and at war with our culture and everything that it means to be an American.

Message: I had the good fortune to meet Chris several times. He worked with a good friend of mine, John Hawke. Chris was a great guy to talk to -- he was bright and energetic and had a lot to offer. We would usually meet after work for a beer at Faneuil Hall. I was in software, and I remember talking about technology and about his father in IT and what his company was doing. He was clearly proud of his father. I'm sure his father was very proud of him too. It's been 5 years now. Whenever 911 is mentioned I think of Chris, and what a loss for all of us.
